Call for Expression of Interest for Emergency Facilities Management Human Resource Listing Service

Emergent situations occur all the time in Canadian Healthcare Institutions, yet maintaining Business Continuity is essential and could be compromised by the unavailability of experienced human resources.  Particularly in the context of a local disaster situation, be it natural, man-made, or pandemic in nature.

There are also situations arising where health care facilities that are heavily involved in project work need temporary assistance, and specific knowledge and skills, to help them see the projects through to completion.

 Background:

Additional expertise is often required in healthcare recovery from natural, man-made and/or pandemic based disasters. Resiliency and the ability of hospitals and health care facilities to overcome, work through, and recover rapidly from such events is paramount.

CHES membership is comprised of a wealth of knowledge, skills, and abilities in disaster management and recovery, and specific engineering and trades experience.  It has been proposed we work toward the establishment of an inventory of human resources with particular expertise that could be called upon to assist locations on a Regional and/or National basis in the time of need.

This initiative will be known as the CHES Emergency Facilities Management Human Resource Listing Service and would include a listing of available human resources, their areas of expertise, expectations related to address compensation and or expenses, and other details.

In future, this type of listing could be expanded to include corporate resources on a regional, and/or national basis.

This database and inventory of Human Resource Skills Sets shall be viewed as a significant value added service that CHES can provide to its members and a valuable resource for Facilities all across Canada.

Use of this listing will be open to CHES membership in hopes that it will aid members in times of emergency when human resources are stretched to their limit, or when expert resources are being sought.

We ask that all CHES members consider being part of the listing service and that they do so by forwarding a copy of their current contact information, skill sets, expectations around compensation and expenses, and whether a CV is available for review.
